These are some of the questions that I receive about werewolves and vampires. I do not know the answer to everything but I will do my best to at least provide some relevant information.

Q: Do you believe in vampires and werewolves?
A: I like to keep my mind open to extreme possibilities. I have no evidence that they are real but I am not the type of person to come out and say that something is impossible. I believe we live in an extraordinary universe and there are all kinds of surprises out there to be discovered.
Q: Why do you hate vampires and werewolves?
A: I do not know any vampires or werewolves AND I do not hate them. I get email from people (alleged vampires and werewolves) wanting to know why I hate them. If someone wants to show me that vampires or werewolves are real and that some of the information I have posted is wrong then I am always open to see the evidence. So far no one has decided to show me any evidence other than to claim they are something in an email. I don't hate many things, but I do get upset at people falsely representing themselves to be something that they are not simply because they need some escape from their boring lives. The research that I do is serious. I take my work serious and I don't like it when fakes, posers, wannabes and phonies try to interfere. I'll save my rant for the next question…
Q: How do I become a werewolf or vampire?
I do not know. Maybe there is not a way. People normally turn into a werewolf or vampire after they have been biten by one or the other - bitten by a real werewolf or vampire - not someone pretending to be either. Do not email me expecting some secret information that I have kept off the website. I am not in contact with any elusive vampire clan or werewolf pack. If vamps and werewolves are out there then they are not sharing their secrets with me.

A: Look, just because you have read Anne Rice 500 times and watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer three times a day does not mean that you are vampire or that you know anything about real vampires. Vampire mythology, both current and ancient, is extremely varied. Ancient Chinese vampires hopped around because of rigor mortis. Japanese vampires are deformed, green, child-like monsters who carried water in an indentation on their heads. Vampires from Ghana had hooks for hands and feet, lived in trees and bit people on their thumbs. Ancient Grecian ones sat on top of houses during the day and banged the roof with stones. Do not assume that Anne Rice, Stephen King or Buffy define what vampires are or are not. The fact that you dress in black, drink blood and pretend to be a vampire doesn't make you a vampire. It just makes you irresponsible and stupid.
Q: Are vampires and werewolves at war?
A: Almost all of the vampires-vs-werewolves information comes from fictional sources like Hollywood movies, books and role-play games. There are some vague historical references that say gypsies believed that white wolves would keep away vampires because the wolf and vampire were enemies. In logical terms it would make little sense for vampires and werewolves to be at war with each other. The real mortal enemy of both vampires and werewolves are human beings.
Q: Does a dog whistle work on a werewolf?
A: This is a good questions and I do not have a real answer so lets examine how a dog whistle works. Dogs can hear sounds that are higher pitch than human ears can hear. A dog whistle is just a whistle that produces a higher pitch tone. The sound of the whistle seems to bother dogs. A dog will bark, jump around, or if the dog is a trained animal it will perform a directed command. Dog whistles usually only work up close. The farther away the less impact the sound will have on the animal. A dog whistle might have an effect on a werewolf but then again that effect could be anger.
Q: Can a vampire or werewolf be a nice person?
A: I don't know any vampires or werewolves. I know that most pop culture media vampires are misunderstood creatures. However, this website uses written history. I have never seen a legend that depicted a vampire as anything else than a lower based demon. Werewolves, however, are depicted in a different light. The typically charms against evil do not seem to work and there are cultures that held werewolf abilities in high regard. There are also myths and legends that tell of people seeking out the knowledge of a werewolf or seeking to make a deal with a werewolf so it would seem that they can at least be negotiated and reasoned with on some level.
Q: Do vampires or werewolves live forever?
A: In most legends vampires and werewolves both have unnatural life spans but they are not immortals. The word immortal means, "not subject to death - everlasting - cannot be killed." Both vampires and werewolves can be killed and it is believed that werewolves can die from old age although that might take several hundred years.
Q: I have a vampire fetish, is this normal?
A: It seems to be the fad of the times. I am not a psychologist and I cannot tell you if it is normal or not. I'm sure like everything else the key is moderation. If you are drinking other people's blood or hurting people then that's not good and you should probably seek some help. Most people don't have a vampire fetish they have a goth fetish. The goth look as become the Hollywood style for vampires. Most historical depictions of real vampires were of diseased rotting corpses.
Q: If you kill a werewolf while he/she is in werewolf form will they turn back into a human?
A: Again, sorry, but I have no idea. I have never kill one and I have never seen one die before. However, the legends do say that when a werewolf is killed that they will revert back into their human form.
Q: Vampires and Werewolves are fake so why doesn't all information sources count?
A: That is a valid opinion. A person could say that there is no such thing as vampire or werewolves therefore all information including pop-culture sources like current movies, books and television shows are valid sources for vampire information. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that approach, however, that is not the direction that this website has decided to take. The view here at Zerotime is that there could be the possibility of vampires and werewolves so let us examine historical records and documents and exclude sources that we know are created for fictional entertainment.
